INTRODUCTION –

The topic I have chosen is “Myths about North Shore, Kamloops” and this topic will explore all the myths about an area, North Shore, which is in Kamloops and is located on the other side of the Thompson river. There’s a negative perception about this particular area among the people of Kamloops and especially international students who are studying in Kamloops’s very popular educational institute , Thompson Rivers University.

As we move forward with this multimedia website, the viewers will be able to discover more insights on the lifestyle of locals in North Shore and how the local businesses are doing with the continuous threat of junkies and homeless people breaking into the stores often.This blog will also cover the housing aspects of North Shore and if this place is suitable for international students to live amidst the housing and rental crisis going on in Kamloops this year. Although junkies and homeless people might be a nuisance but the myths about them is not true and you’ll get to know how the real situation here is through this blog.

RATIONALE –

Talking about this social stigma surrounding North Shore is important because international students of Thompson Rivers University who make up atleast 40 percent of Kamloops’s population are facing problems regarding finding suitable rental options to stay. North Shore isn’t much popular among students and thus breaking the myths and talking more clearly about North Shore might help the students change their decsisions of not living out here in this area.Also by talking about this topic people can know about which parts of North Shore has less junkies and crime rates.

On the Saturday, Dec. 19, 2020, Kamloops Mounties were called to the Angry Otter Tranquille Liquor Store at 363 Tranquille Rd. for a shoplifting call. The suspect was injured and taken to hospital for treatment.
